NCSF United continued their perfect start to the season with a hard fought 1-0 win over Sporting Greyhounds Reserves.
The game kicked off to a highly contested start with a lot of good midfield battling and a couple of chances at either end featuring Cham making some good saves.
The breakthrough came when a bouncing ball found it’s way to the magical feet of Charlie P who lifted an equally magical ball through to Pat who was rushing onwards towards goal with a great run, with his first touch Pat lifted the ball over the stranded Greyhounds keeper and delicately under the bar to round off a beautiful goal and put the us into the lead.
The second half kicked off and more chances came for the forwards but neither team managed to add to the scoresheet. Special shout-out must go to our MOTM Kostas – fantastically solid in defence and unbelievable composed on the ball, highlighted by a touch from about 20 metres in the air killed dead at his feet on the halfway line – beautiful.
Due to the hard work put in, the Pinks earned their first clean sheet of the season and remain top of Division 2.
